:
When he hung up the phone Cam’el got Karin to Nana’s, dressed and headed to Festival. He didn’t call the Circle, but wandered in alone. Nicole Denis had organized one last Bridezilla promotion comprised of Vegas newlyweds.
:
Cam’el joined them onstage wearing large sunglasses and an Elvis outfit -- to a mix of cheers and hisses. Many believed he was a good community-minded person. Others said he was leading people astray.
:
When given the mic, Cam’el told his craziest Rideshare story and a little bit about the passion fruits garnered from messengering. He received warm applause and went offstage to hugs and handshakes.
:
Slipping through the crowd, Cam’el absorbed random thoughts. "Hey, good to see you,” were the words from the mouth, but out of the heart, ‘I used to run with him, but too narrow-minded.”
:
‘‘I support Cam’el. He drove my mom to the doctor’s office.”
:
“We need to find out more about him. He’s definitely an outsider.”
:
The dissension was expected. Cam’el’s methods provoked a response, a choice. Yet, there was something else, a palpable severity felt in the downtown air, like a cloak, high up, thick.
:
Cam’el walked the moonlit street, before catching glimpse of it. Peering between towers. Betrayal sought a vantage point.
